It is centralized web enabled architecture with single database and application for the whole country to cater the services related to vehicle registration, tax, fitness, permit etc. In UP, all 76 RTO/ARTO offices are running on VAHAN 4.0.

Online services available on VAHAN 4.0 :

• Tax Payment
• Online Fitness test Slot booking.
• Application for Transfer of ownership, Change of Address, Hypothecation (Addition/Continuation/Termination), Duplicate RC, NOC, RC Particular.
• Fresh Permit, Renewal of Permit, Duplicate Permit, NP/AITP permit authorization.

To avail online services user has to feed his/her mobile number. To update mobile number follow instructions given below :

• Click here to go VAHAN 4.0 Portal.
• Enter your Vehicle Number and click 'Proceed'.
• Go on online services menu and click on Mobile ‘Number Update option’.
• Enter Registration, Chassis and Engine number and click on ‘Show Detail Button’.
• After verifying detail enter your mobile number and click on ‘Generate OTP’.
• Enter OTP sent to your mobile in OTP box and click on ‘Save detail Button’.
